By using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these terms. Terms may be revised at any time. The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s (Department) Recreational Access Arizona web site (RAA) are subject to the following terms and conditions:


RAA is meant to display the Department’s efforts in securing recreational access opportunities in the State of Arizona. As such, RAA also displays additional recreational access opportunities provided by other State and Federal agencies. The Department hopes that you will learn about and enjoy all of these great opportunities within Arizona, in which the Department is responsible for managing fish and wildlife for generations to come.

Enjoyment of recreation in Arizona is not without its risks and responsibility. Arizona has extreme temperatures, isolated areas, lack of cell service, and venomous wildlife. It is your responsibility to be prepared for a wide variety of environments and situations. Travel with adequate food and water, equipment, and if driving, a vehicle in good working condition, with spare tires and parts. Tell family or friends of your intended travel itinerary, and expected return time.

It is also your responsibility to recreate in Arizona ethically. Do not participate in recreational activities that may damage the land or potentially ruin opportunities for others in the future. Respecting the land includes but is not limited to, closing gates behind you unless posted otherwise, not driving on wet or muddy roads, not driving off of roads, not cutting fencing, not littering, and obeying all rules that exist on ranches, private land, and leased land.

Modification of these Terms of Use

The Department reserves the right to change the terms, conditions, and notices under which RAA is offered, including but not limited to the changes associated with the use of RAA. Continued use of this web site constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

Links to Third Party Sites

RAA may contain links to other Web Sites ("Linked Sites"). The Linked Sites are not under the control of the Department and the Department is not responsible for the contents of any Linked Site, including without limitation any link contained in a Linked Site, or any changes or updates to a Linked Site. The Department is not responsible for webcasting or any other form of transmission received from any Linked Site. The Department is providing these links to you only as a convenience, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by the Department or any association with its operators. The Department makes no representation or warranties about the content, completeness, or accuracy of these Linked Sites or the sites hyperlinked to this site.

You assume all risk for using third party services, or third party service products, such as but not limited to Google Maps or Apple Maps directions. The Department does not guarantee the accuracy of third party services, or data sent or used by third party services.

Restrictions on Use - No Unlawful or Prohibited Use

As a condition of your use of RAA, you may use RAA for purposes expressly permitted by this site. You warrant to the Department that you will not use RAA for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions, and notices. You may not use RAA in any manner which could damage, disable, overburden, or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of RAA. You may not obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not intentionally made available or provided for through RAA.

Data are intended to inform the public about the Department's recreational access efforts and other recreational access opportunities. Data are for planning purposes only, and are not intended for other uses.

The Department is not liable for, and shall be held harmless from and against all damage, loss or liability arising from any unsafe use of RAA, such as but not limited to use while driving. It is the user’s responsibility to use RAA safely, and obey all State and Federal regulations.

Geospatial Data Accuracy

As the custodian of RAA, the Department is not liable for, nor bound by errors, inaccuracies or omissions and shall be held harmless from and against all damage, loss or liability arising from any use, misuse, or interpretation of geospatial data that is depicted on RAA. The use of RAA are subject to A. R. S., §§ 37-171, 37-173, 37-177, and 37-178 relating to geospatial data and geographic information.

The maps and resources provided by RAA are intended solely for the uses stated above. The spatial accuracy and representation of legal boundaries, such as the Department Game Management Units (GMU) may vary depending on the source data used and is inappropriate for use for legal purposes. Users requiring legal boundaries or locations should consult authoritative data sources. For legal descriptions of GMU boundaries, see Arizona Game and Fish Commission (Commission) A.A.C.R R12-4-108 and hunt area descriptions within specific Commission Orders.

The location depicted of a user by RAA through IP Address, cell towers and signal strength, WI-FI networks and signal strengths, or GPS (if available), is prone to error, and is for reference only. The Department is not liable for, nor bound by errors, inaccuracies or omissions and shall be held harmless from and against all damage, loss or liability arising from any use, misuse, or interpretation of geolocation information, such as but not limited to the user’s location, depicted in RAA.

Use of Third Party Services

RAA makes use of third party services, such as but not limited to Firebase, Inc. (https://www.firebase.com/), Google, Inc. (https://www.google.com/policies/terms/, and Apple, Inc. (http://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/maps/. By using RAA you also agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy of these third party services.

By using RAA you agree to the Department collecting, maintaining, and using data about and created by the user in accordance with RAA’s Privacy Policy. By agreeing to these Terms of Use, you also agree you have read, understand, and agree with RAA’s Privacy Policy. Content Saved to RAA

You agree that the Department will not be required to treat any data you enter as confidential, and may use the information you enter to this site without incurring any liability. The Department will treat any personal information that you submit through this site in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

No compensation will be paid with respect to the use of your Submission, as provided herein. The Department is under no obligation to post or use any Submission you may provide and may remove any Submission at any time in the Department’s sole discretion.

By posting, uploading, inputting, providing or submitting your Submission you have also read, understand, and agreed to RAA’s Privacy Policy, and have agreed that any content created or submitted is not inappropriate or profane, and obeys all State and Federal regulations.

While the Department will make every attempt to ensure your privacy in accordance with RAA’s Privacy Policy, the Department is also subject to Public Records Requests, and may have to provide some or all of the content you have submitted or the data we have collected as a public record.

The Department disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or infringement. Limitation on Liability

If you are dissatisfied with any portion of RAA, or with any of these Terms of Use, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue using RAA. In order to remove information associated with your account, you may contact us through email at RecAccess@azgfd.gov and request your information be removed in accordance with RAA’s Privacy Policy.

Waiver and Release

As a condition to your use of this site, you hereby release the Department, the State of Arizona, its boards and commissions, officers and employees and agents and suppliers from any and all claims, causes of actions or other rights that you might have against us arising out of or relating to the submission and review of any materials made available through this site as well as any losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind including, without limitation, personal injuries, death, and property damage, that is either directly or indirectly related to or arise from any incorrect or inaccurate information you submit through the site, whether caused by you or others on your behalf or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the site, or as a result of any decisions made based upon information obtained from us or through RAA.

Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, and you hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in the State of Arizona. in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of RAA.


If any part of these terms of use is unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that part will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

You agree that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and the Department as a result of this agreement or use of RAA.

The Department’s performance of this agreement is subject to existing laws and legal process, and nothing contained in this agreement is in derogation of the Department’s right to comply with governmental, court and law enforcement requests or requirements relating to your use RAA or information provided to or gathered by the Department with respect to such use.

Unless otherwise specified herein, this agreement, along with RAA’s Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between the user and the Department with respect to RAA and it supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether electronic, oral or written, between the user and the Department with respect to RAA.

A printed version of this agreement and of any notice given in electronic form shall be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings based upon or relating to this agreement to the same extent and subject to the same conditions as other public records or business documents and records originally generated and maintained in printed form.
